MVCTC Recognizes May Students of the Month
Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) is proud to recognize the outstanding students selected as May Students of the Month. These students have demonstrated excellence in leadership, technical skill, academics, work ethic, and service to their programs and peers.
Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture
Jordyn Light (Tipp City)
Jordyn is a junior in the Computer Repair & Tech Support program. Instructor Rusty Sink shared, “Jordan has been working above and beyond on projects. He is our Junior go-to for anything Linux and Apple. Students look up to him for guidance, and he is a great asset to our classroom. Jordyn also competed at BPA Nationals as a Junior.”
Shayne Brunner (Miamisburg)
Shayne is a senior in the Computer Repair & Tech Support program. Instructor Rusty Sink stated, “Shayne has been working really hard at a mid-year program change from Computer Coding to Computer Repair, and has passed his CompTIA A+ Certification. That is a great accomplishment as a one-year student. He is a great student with a great attitude.”
Health and Consumer Sciences
Trinity Goin (Arcanum-Butler)
Trinity is a junior in the Early Childhood Education program. Instructor Alicia Newman shared, “Trinity arrives each day with a smile and a willingness to learn. She teaches with kindness and compassion in our preschool and is appreciative of feedback. She is kind to her peers and serves as a positive role model.”
Faith Hathaway (Arcanum-Butler)
Faith is a junior in the Culinary Arts program. Instructor Cortney Bergbigler stated, “Faith consistently demonstrates excellent attendance, completes all assigned work on time, and works well with others in both the classroom and lab settings. Faith approaches every task with responsibility and attention to detail, following directions and maintaining a positive attitude. She also does an outstanding job in the Bistro, where she is dependable, efficient, and takes pride in her work. In addition, Faith recently placed 2nd in our Pop-Tart Wars competition, showcasing her creativity, teamwork, and technical skills.”
Trade & Industry and Graphic Arts
Daniel Reed (Milton-Union)
Daniel, a Construction Carpentry student, has demonstrated strong leadership within the Junior Construction Carpentry Program. He arrives on time every day, prepared and ready to work. His willingness to complete assigned tasks and then assist his peers highlights his strong work ethic and sets him on a clear path to success.
Luke Pack (Twin Valley South)
Luke is a senior in the Electrical Trades Lab who has taken a head-on approach to lab assignments throughout the school year. Most recently, he was named MVD (“Most Valuable Digger”) during the ET2 vs. HVAC2 Ditch Digging Competition on the Hill, where ET2 outperformed HVAC2 in a hands-on layout and manual excavation lab challenge.
MVCTC Satellites
Gracelyn Miller (Miami East Ag)
Gracelyn is a sophomore enrolled in Plant and Animal Sciences and a second-year member of the Miami East FFA Chapter. She currently serves as the co-chair of the Ag Advocacy Committee and participated in Project WILD and fruit sales. She has competed in career development events, including Ag Biotechnology, Small Animal Management, and Animal Welfare. She plans to attend MVCTC in Graphic Arts in the fall.
Harper Paul (Northmont PLTW)
Harper is an 8th-grade Robotics student who is very diligent and precise when using robotics equipment. Harper excels in building and design.
Charlie Weiss (Arcanum-Butler Ag)
Charlie is a senior and has served as an officer in the chapter. He has excelled in contests at the state and national levels.
Ryan Morales (Northmont PLTW)
Ryan is a 7th-grade student in Design & Modeling. He has been an exceptional student, self-motivated and always willing to help other students succeed.
Academics
Dayna Zimmerman (Vandalia-Butler)
Dayna is a senior in the Hospitality Services program. Science teacher Amanda Jerdon stated, “Dayna has demonstrated excellence in the classroom. She is reliable and maintains a positive attitude. Dayna is a hard worker and a leader in the classroom. She is supportive of her peers.”
Warren Landes (Bethel)
Warren is a junior in the Diesel Power Technologies program. English teacher Tiffany Minton shared, “Warren is a model student! He is attentive, consistent, and high-achieving. He is also very polite and respectful, and an all-around pleasure to have in class!”
