MVCTC Media & Video Production Students Turn Creativity Into Career-Ready Skills

Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Media & Video Production students are capturing more than just great footage. They’re building real-world experience, technical expertise, and the confidence to take their creative ambitions to the next level.

Seniors Nacole Lester (Huber Heights) and Liam Fasick (Vandalia-Butler) shared that the program's hands-on nature is one of their favorite features. Both students agreed that “you can make the most of your time here,” adding that the program is an ideal foundation for studying film or video production in college.

MVCTC’s Media & Video Production program prepares students to tell powerful stories through video and digital media. Students receive instruction in Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and InDesign, while studying animation design, typography, sound, and digital graphics.

In addition to classroom learning, students gain real-world experience by working with actual clients and producing weekly video morning announcements as part of a senior capstone project. Examples of student-produced content can be found at www.ctctube.com.

The program offers college credit opportunities through Edison State Community College and Hocking College, as well as several Ohio Career-Technical Assurance Guides (CTAGs) in electronic publishing, animation, digital video production, and raster graphics.

Completing the Media & Video Production program prepares students for a variety of careers in media arts, including producers and directors, film and video editors, and other digital content creation roles.
