MVCTC Auto Collision and Welding Students Complete Community Poppy Project

Englewood, Ohio – Seniors in the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Auto Collision and Welding program recently played a key role in a meaningful community tribute in partnership with the American Legion. The students completed the finishing paintwork on custom-crafted metal poppy flowers that will be displayed in front of businesses throughout Englewood.

The project began in MVCTC’s Welding program, where senior students designed, cut, and welded the flower structures. Then, the Auto Collision seniors took over—priming, painting, and detailing each flower with precision and care. The result: a vibrant, handcrafted field of poppies, created by students to honor veterans and support the American Legion’s remembrance efforts.

This hands-on project sharpened students’ technical skills in collision repair and automotive painting and emphasized the importance of community service and teamwork across MVCTC programs.

Projects like this exemplify MVCTC’s commitment to both technical excellence and community engagement. Thank you to the Auto Collision and Welding program seniors for honoring our veterans in such a creative and meaningful way.
