Auto Collision
The Automotive Collision program at MVCTC prepares students for rewarding careers in vehicle repair and restoration. Students will gain hands-on experience in dent removal, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and applying materials like body fillers, adhesives, and specialty refinishing products. They will also learn techniques for repairing plastics, mixing and applying primers, base coats, and custom painting while working on both MVCTC and customer-owned vehicles. Additionally, students will study automobile electrical and mechanical systems, including steering, braking, and suspension, to better understand the vehicle’s primary structure and safety features. The program offers work-based learning opportunities, certifications such as ICAR Collision Repair, ProLevel 1 Refinishing Technician, and Platinum Level 1 Refinishing, and college credit options through Sinclair College. Graduates will be well-prepared to meet the growing demand for skilled collision repair technicians capable of restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition.
