Drones & GIS Technologies
The Drones & GIS Technologies program at MVCTC equips students with essential skills in the emerging fields of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). Students will learn to operate and fly drones, plan missions, and perform drone maintenance and modification, all while using the indoor flying space to prepare for their Remote Pilot Certification. What makes this program unique is the integration of drone-collected data with GIS fundamentals, allowing students to analyze images and use data for advanced database analytics. The field has vast potential in industries such as precision agriculture, first responder operations, data analytics, infrastructure inspection, and more. Students can earn certifications like Remote Pilot Certification and GIS Fundamentals Foundation, as well as Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications, all while gaining college credits through Clark State College and Sinclair College.
