MVCTC serves juniors and seniors from 27 partner school districts

All students can complete the MVCTC on-line application, click here. If you are currently attending one of our 27 partner district schools, after you submit, the application will automatically go to your school counselor to finish the process and your school counselor will forward your application to MVCTC. If you do not currently attend one of our 27 partner district schools, MVCTC staff will reach out to the school counselor/principal listed on your application to finalize the application.

The ultimate goal is that all students graduate. Our MVCTC school counselors will be reviewing your application to decide the best educational experience depending on the severity of deficiencies.  Students who do have credit deficiencies and/or poor attendance may be required to participate in Project PASS.  They will be required to submit plans for making up the credit deficiencies and/or sign an attendance pledge if the student is admitted to MVCTC.

Partner school counselors pick up acceptance notices at the Spring (by mid-April) Partner School Counselors' Meeting at MVCTC. The counselors then distribute the information to their students. After the initial review, status letters will be mailed.

Students attend MVCTC from 8:05 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each day. The school day consists of hands-on career technical program training, English, science, social studies, math, and elective classes. Click here to see the academic course descriptions.

Transportation is provided by each partner high school. Apprenticeship, Internship, and Open Enrollment students must provide their own daily transportation. The Dayton RTA does have a daily route to MVCTC.

Each career technical program has a fee, which covers lab costs, uniforms, tool kits, etc. To see a complete list of student fees, click here.

A few weeks before school starts, all MVCTC students are invited to attend Schedule Pick-Up Night. They will be able to walk around the campus, talk with instructors, and find their classrooms.

Students can earn eight credits each year at MVCTC, which are awarded by semester. They receive their high school diplomas from their partner district high school. A student will receive a portfolio from MVCTC which displays a profile of both professional and personal accomplishments.  This portfolio is called a Career Passport and will be given to students at Senior Recognition in May at University of Dayton Arena.

MVCTC prepares students for a seamless transition from high school to college by providing opportunities to earn college credit and scholarship money towards a post-secondary education. Click here to see the many College Option opportunities at MVCTC.

Since you will still be a student at your partner district high school when you attend MVCTC, we encourage you to continue to participate in your extra-curricular activities, including sports, clubs, band, etc.

• Many MVCTC students are earning while they are learning by participating in Advanced Placement (1/2 day) or Apprenticeship (alternative 2 weeks to school and 2 weeks to work) during their senior year
