Checklist: Get Ready for Day One

  1. Review & Submit FinalForms (Due by the First Day of School)
    • MVCTC partners with FinalForms to complete and verify essential information. You may review and update your information at any time; however, you will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any update.
      • Beginning July 15 (later if you were accepted into a program after this date), check your email for an Account Confirmation email from FinalForms.
        • Set up your account.
        • Locate your child’s Incomplete Forms.
        • Complete, sign, and submit each section to move on to the next form.
      • Several forms require student signatures. Once the parent/guardian completes their portion, FinalForms will automatically notify the student to complete the required signatures.
        • Incoming juniors (new students) will receive their MVCTC email login information during Schedule Pick-Up & Meet & Greet Night. Parents do not need to wait for the student's portion to complete their required forms.
        • Returning seniors should continue monitoring their existing MVCTC email for any FinalForms notifications requiring their attention.

    • If you require any support during the process, please contact:
      • Data Specialist Mrs. Trudie Fischer | ✉️ tfischer@mvctc.com | ☎️ 937-854-6257

    • 26-27 FinalForms Guidance
  2. Pay School Fees
    • You may begin paying your fees starting August 3. We ask that 50% of your total school fees be paid by the first school day.  When making a payment, you will need an MVCTC student ID number. This number is located on your acceptance letter and will also be located on your class schedule. Visit the Treasurer's Office Page to find information on paying school fees or contact the cashier 📞 Mrs. Lisa Smart — lsmart@mvctc.com | 937-854-6286
    • Please note: If you already have a PaySchools account for your child or other children at your partner school district, or for Northmont food service for lunch accounts, you will need to create a new PaySchools account for MVCTC using a different email address for student fees.
  3. Set Up Meal Payments
    • Our breakfast and lunch are prepared and served by Northmont Food Service. Directions on how to prepay will be available during Schedule Pick Up, on our website, or in the serving lines.
    • When prepaying, you must select Northmont City Schools.
    • If you need help with meal costs, you can complete a Free and Reduced-Price School Meals Application. An application can be completed online at www.payschoolscentral.com or printed at www.northmontschools.net/departments/food-service. If you do not have access to a computer, you can receive an application in the serving line.
      • If you participated in the free and reduced meal program at your current school, you must complete a new application to participate in the program at MVCTC. You are responsible for any charges incurred before your application is approved, so complete it early.
    • Additional information can be found on the Food Services Page.

❗Your MVCTC Student ID# (on your class schedule, in the acceptance notice, and in FinalForms) is needed for most forms.

Dress Code

Please review the dress code information carefully, as it is outlined in the Student Handbook. Some programs have uniform requirements that will be further explained to you in a separate mailing or on the first day of school. If you are unsure or have questions, please contact your lab instructor.

Transportation to MVCTC

Our 27 partner school districts provide transportation for students attending their district to MVCTC. Please contact your school district if you have questions about bus pick-ups and drop-offs.

Students who are open-enrolled (do not attend one of the 27 partner schools) OR participate in Pre-apprenticeship, Internship, or Advanced Placement are responsible for providing their own daily transportation.

If you are driving, getting dropped off, or getting picked up, please view the following links to assist:

Staying Connected to Partner School

Students are still enrolled at their partner high school while attending MVCTC. It is encouraged that the student  continue to participate in extra-curricular activities, including, sports, clubs, band, choir, orchestra, theater, etc. Students will receive their high school diploma from their partner school district, and a Career Passport from MVCTC.  We highly encourage your student to stay connected by checking their MVCTC school email daily for updates from their partner school, listen to morning announcements, read announcements running on screens during lunch, and meet with your partner school counselor when they visit MVCTC.

MVCTC Policies on Inclement Weather

What to do if your partner school is closed/delayed due to bad weather

When a partner school is closed due to weather conditions or other calamities, students from the closed school are not required to report to MVCTC. Students may report if they choose to find a safe way to MVCTC. Students from other schools that are not closed are required to report to MVCTC as usual. If the partner school is operating on a delayed schedule, students are required to report at the appropriate time as adjusted by the partner school's delay. Students on advanced placement are not required to report to MVCTC if their home school is on a delayed schedule. If the student reports to the MVCTC at the regular time (and discovers that their home school is on a delay), they are to remain at school and follow the MVCTC schedule.

MVCTC is closed due to bad weather

When MVCTC is closed on the authority of the administration and/or the Board of Education due to weather conditions or other calamities, no student is required to report to school. When such a decision is made, the media and TV newsrooms are immediately notified, and a School Messenger System phone call will be sent to families at the numbers they have on file with the district. Please ensure that the phone number on file with the MVCTC is current. Please do not call personnel, the school offices, or the media. Listen to the radio or TV for announcements, or visit www.mvctc.com
